Melodi’s niece April came to visit us for a few days from Colorado to hang out so immediately I had plans to turn my living-room into a studio. On one of the last nights of her visit we re-arranged all the furniture and set up a backdrop and a couple of Westcott’s TD5 lights with softboxes. The entire shoot was really just the two lights and occasionally we brought in a gold & silver mix reflector.

We shot for less than 3 hours, with wardrobe changes, so it was a rather quick considering how many outfits and lighting changes we had. Tons of fun! Below are a few of the results…

Dusty & Kenne Engagement

I picked up Dusty & Kenne from their vacation residence in Palm Springs around 7AM. We loaded up my truck with a few outfit changes for Dusty and about 75 pounds of wardrobe changes for Kenne. I wish that we could have squeezed all the outfits in but we only had a few hours to get to a number of spots out in the desert.

We ended up getting to our first stop around 8:30AM, which was Salvation Mountain, and stayed there for a little over an hour. The next stop was Bombay Beach, which is a gem of a beach town that sits right up to the Salton Sea. We hung out with the pelicans and the dead fish for nearly an hour and then headed back to Palm Springs to go shoot in Indian Canyons.

Also included in this gallery are some images taken during the combined Bachelor/Bachelorette party in Ojai. They guys went out and played golf and the girls… well, I’m not entirely sure what the girls were doing as I was taking photos on the golf course.

I had a great time photographing Kenne & Dusty and I think we ended up with some pretty fun shots.
